Tuna Melt on Rye

Tuna Melt on Artisan Sourdough Bakers Dark Rye Bread featuring Devondale Salted Butter and CHEER Aussie Jack Shredded Cheese

Ingredients

  • 6 slices Woolworths Artisan Sourdough Bakers Dark Rye Bread, sliced thick
  • 70g Devondale Salted Butter butter, melted

Tuna Mix
  • 425g Safcol Responsibly Fished Tuna in Spring Water, drained
  • 2 stalks of celery, finely chopped
  • 2-3 small sweet spiced gherkins, finely diced
  • 1 tbls gherkin juice
  • 2 tbls mild American mustard
  • 1 cup Thomy Mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish
  • 150g CHEER Aussie Jack Shredded Cheese

Directions

  1. Brush the rye bread slices on both sides, with the melted Devondale Salted Butter and place on a lined baking tray. Place the tray under a grill and toast bread on both sides. Approx. 5 minutes per side.
  2. Meanwhile, place all of the tuna mix ingredients into a large bowl and combine well.
  3. When the bread has toasted, top each slice with the tuna mix. Divide the CHEER Aussie Jack Shredded Cheese to top each, then place the tray under a grill for 7-10mins or until the cheese has melted.
